The role and responsibilities of “Right to Information (RTI) Cell” are :

Promoting Open Governance

We believe in promoting an open and transparent governance model, where information is readily available to the public and stakeholders.

The RTI Cell empowers students, faculty, staff, and the public to exercise their right to access information and be informed about college affairs.

: We ensure that NIET complies with the RTI Act, 2005, by promptly responding to RTI requests and providing accurate and relevant information.

The Cell efficiently handles RTI applications, verifying the validity of requests and responding within the stipulated time frames.

We maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all RTI applications and responses, ensuring transparency in the process

The RTI Cell conducts awareness programs and workshops to educate stakeholders about their right to information and the RTI process.

Any stakeholder, including students, faculty, staff, and the public, can file an RTI application with the RTI Cell. The application should clearly state the information sought and be accompanied by the prescribed fees.

The RTI Cell verifies the application to ensure it meets the required criteria and is complete. Once verified, the Cell processes the application for further action.

The RTI Cell seeks the information from the relevant departments and authorities within the college.

The RTI Cell responds to the applicant within the stipulated time frame, either providing the requested information or stating the reasons for denial, as per the provisions of the RTI Act.

The Cell maintains a record of all RTI applications, responses, and related documentation to ensure accountability and transparency.
